Attention, all personnel...
After how well our Kiddie Cadet pattern turned out, we were dying to have the same stylish hat for ourselves. Modeled after a traditional style cadet hat, Hawkeye is the perfect combination of style and function. It’s equally fitting whether you’re shopping or skateboarding. This hat would be great for either summer or winter, depending on your choice of fiber. You can really use any yarn that gives you the proper gauge and holds its shape after blocking. It is extremely versatile and you can customize it to show off your personality!
The Hawkeye hat is knit from the bottom up in the round, and the bill is added later with a short row technique. This is a great project for all skill levels. You can personalize your hat by adding a patch. We have provided an online tutorial on how to add felt patches to your finished cadet hat. Please visit our Patch Tutorial for a step by step guide as well as free patch templates.
